FOR PRESTIGIOUS 2003-04 OVATION AWARD

Yvette Freeman in Dinah Was Captures Nomination for Best Actress

Dinah Was, the play that Yvette Freeman conceived (written by Oliver Goldstick) was honored by 11 nominations from Ovation Awards for the performance at the International City Theatre, the Resident Professional Theatre at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. Dinah Was, a musical biography of legendary singer Dinah Washington (the most-nominated show of any theater). Yvette Freeman was nominated as Best Actress - a role which won her an Ovation Award in 1997 and an Obie in 1998.

The Ovation Awards will be presented on Sunday, November 14th at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
